Welcome to Indie Comic News, the home for news, reviews, and feature articles about the world of independent comics.

I want to believe: Comichaus, upcoming indie comic streaming service?

The Kickstarter

I'm always hesitant about Kickstarters - it's the reason why, even though I could easily get several posts a day about Kickstarted comics, I rarely post about them.

But this one is something I'm interested in. I think that Marvel Unlimited is one of the best things in comics, and I would love to see that replicated elsewhere. Comixology Unlimited is a little frustrating, being built around the drug dealer model (the first trade's free...), and so it's all about the implementation. Is it going to be "go ahead and read everything", or "here's just enough to make you want more"? It might not even be under their control...

But I want this badly. There are so many independent comics out there, and having somewhere to just stumble onto them? You can do the same on Comixology, but even the $1 comics add up after a while. $45 a year for unlimited access? Even if they don't get the big indies (they have some IDW, but who knows how far that really goes), I'm most interested in the really long tail of comics, so I'd sign up for it in a heartbeat if it only existed...

I'm rooting for you, Comichaus. Go and help make it happen if you can.

(I was not contacted by Comichaus or given anything for this post - I really just want this service to exist.)
